Donating on Palmetto Giving Day makes your gift go further because it will be matched:
The Frances P. Bunnelle foundation, The Tamsberg Family Foundation and other generous donor have provided $13,000 in matching gifts. Which means your gifts, up to $13,000 will be doubled (a $100 gift becomes $200; $250 becomes $500, etc).
How to donate:
On Tuesday May 5th go to to www.Palmettogivingday.org. You have 36 hours to make a gift this year. Donations can be made between 12:00 am Tuesday the 5th and 12:00 pm Wednesday May 6th.
Although online gifts are encouraged (and the Frances P. Bunnell Foundation is matching only gifts made online) we will gladly accept gifts by check made out to Friends of Coastal South Carolina, Mail to PO Box 1131, Mt Pleasant SC 29465. Checks must be received by Tuesday May 5th.
Your “helping hand” has never been more important:
The COVID-19 crisis has changed the world for all of us. With spring and summer fundraising events cancelled Palmetto Giving Day will be the primary funding source to sustain our science learning and environmental stewardship programs through the summer and fall (programs which allow thousands of children to explore Waccamaw, Cape Romain and E.F. Hollings ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuges and the Francis Marion National Forest), and for critical wildlife projects like sea turtle and shorebird conservation; work, which only happens with your support.
We are working hard to adapt to our new environment. With schools closed, we have been creating virtual education programs and home lessons to support our kids, parents, and teachers through these uncertain times.
The COVID-19 pandemic will determine how loggerhead sea turtle and shorebird conservation work is structured this year. If volunteers cannot safely participate the staff you have helped us provide to these projects will be even more critical to ensuring a successful breeding season this year.
